Allure Salon and Spa - Haircuts & Hair Design, Manicures, Pedicures, Acrylics and Massages - Come immerse yourself in luxury and pleasureAllure Salon and Spa - While I was there one day to get my nails done, while waiting my turn I decided to take a few pictures of the inside of the Salon, as well as a few pictures of the outside buildings/shops to give you an idea of where Allure Salon and Spa is located.
They're located downtown on Pioneer Way but it can be difficult to find when you're driving through. That's just the nature of Pioneer Way though, with all the beautiful trees and sights to gaze at, if you're looking for a specific business sometimes you have to look hard. Good thing the speed limit is only 20 or 25 mph! And by the way, if you ever have a chance to just stroll along the sidewalk, do so, it's like being transported back to a gentler time. Here are some pictures to help orient you to make it easier to find Allure. They're two doors west of Popsies and on the south side of the street. I haven't had a chance to visit their shop yet but the ladies at Allure say they have beautiful goodies in there. There's a gorgeous blown-glass pink flamingo sitting on the reception counter at Allure that came from the Purple Moon. I can't wait to find some time to walk through and see what fun stuff I can find. To the west of the Purple Moon is the entrance to a sort of mini-mall. Another of those places that I haven't had a chance to visit yet but one of these days...  When you see the "Purple Moon" and the entrance to the mini-mall then look directly across the street and you'll see Allure. The Allure Salon and Spa is all about pink and beauty... The pink Allure sign outside; pink on the lower half of the walls; several decorations that make reference to pink such as a sign that says "Pink isn't just a color, it's an attitude"; a cloth with pink polka dots that covers the table that serves as their drink area; the beautiful pink flamingo that I mentioned above; and a few other goodies.
Allure also displays really cute outfits on mannequins, these outfits being available from another store on Pioneer Way. All of this makes it so very comforting and welcoming inside. An intimate salon, designed for your comfortThere are two stations for cutting and styling hair, which keeps it cozy and intimate; quite a refreshing difference from those types of salons where there are people buzzing all over the place, listening to other people's conversations, and just plain making one uncomfortable all the way around.Allure also does massages (something I plan on treating myself to some day soon), and manicures and pedicures. The closest I've gotten to a massage here is to peek into the room. But one of these days... Allure Salon and Spa Manicures, Pedicures, and Acrylics The name of the wonderful lady who does my manicures, pedicures, and acrylics is Lori. She's fun to talk to and her family owns a couple businesses here in town and she has a few connections (she might be able to get us tickets to see Sig and Edgar Hansen of Deadliest Catch when they visit Oak Harbor again! My son will LOVE her! And I gotta admit, I'd be pretty happy too). :) I searched high and low and it is almost impossible to find a nail artist here in town who will do acrylic on toenails, but Lauri does! It might be the ultimate in vanity but I love how beautiful my toes are after she's given me a pink and white acrylic "treatment". She doesn't use tips but you'd have no idea when she's done, and she is fast (and I do mean f-a-s-t, my daughter was stunned when I was back home so quickly), and her work is beautiful. If I remember correctly, she'll even do a bit of artwork on your nails if you ask her nice enough, or if you have your own nail decals (available at Rite-Aid and oh so cute), she'll apply them for you. ;-) She's very friendly and soon you'll feel like you're talking to a long-time friend. The ultimate in scalp treatments The hair washing station is on a slightly raised platform.Imagine leaning back there, getting your hair washed and your scalp massaged... Gazing at the pictures of the flowers on the wall... If, that is, you can keep your eyes open (those scalp massages can be really relaxing!).
Even if you have to wait a bit for your turn, you won't mind...To make your visit even more enjoyable, the salon serves complimentary coffee, tea, soda, beer and even wine!The waiting area is a bay window in the front of the store where you can sit with your glass of wine (or your choice of beverage) and gaze out the window and people-watch while you wait for your turn at being pampered. You can almost see the look of envy on the ladies faces as they walk by, wishing it was them sitting there in your place! Allure Salon and Spa is undergoing a beautiful transformation from what it was before they moved in; a bit of construction, painting walls, etc. Even though it's as welcoming as it is, you can see that it's going to be an even more beautiful place once it's complete. The ladies responsible for all of your pampering...Allure Salon and Spa is owned and operated by a couple forward-looking, trendy and very friendly ladies, Jessica Van Velkinburgh and Jenn Blanchard, and you can see that they really enjoy working together.Everyone deserves to be pampered so be sure to visit them the next time you're in Oak Harbor!
